Additional Information: For this piece, I was inspired by the confidence in the woman depicted in Madame X, and I wanted to replicate the same emotion. I chose red to symbolize power and strength, and I included books to show intelligence and an educated mind. I stayed with the same general pose and composition, however, adding a necklace and elongating the dress to evoke the same elegance of the woman in the original painting.
